Volunteering

Volunteering could be just the thing you're looking for. It can be very satisfying too. This is your chance to make more of the skills you have, and develop some new ones. It will also make your college or university application stand out from the crowd - and maybe even get you a valuable reference.

Volunteering is unpaid, but most organisations will guarantee to reimburse your expenses. You'll gain loads of useful experience, have fun, receive training, and get to go on fantastic free days out.

Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets

Volunteer Centre Tower Hamlets is the Volunteer Centre for the borough of Tower Hamlets. We match volunteers with non-profit organisations and groups in Tower Hamlets.  We'll also help you make contact, and help you solve any problems that come up while you're trying to get started.

People volunteer for different reasons. As well as helping your community, there are lots of personal benefits to volunteering.  There will always be an opportunity that suits you, whatever your background. The Volunteer Centre has over 500 opportunities in over 300 organisations. Times are flexible, and opportunities range from hands-on outdoors work to being part of a management committee, from reading with children to being part of a busy community centre.  If you don't know what you might like to do, just picture something you enjoy doing now, or that you want to do as a job in the future - and tell us.  It's as simple as that! vInvolved

vInvolved is a National Youth volunteering programme, inspiring a million more young volunteers.

v. It’s the first letter in volunteering. It's also the name of the independent charity championing youth volunteering in England.

v exists to inspire a new generation of young volunteers (aged 16-25) in England and enable a lasting change in the quality, quantity and diversity of youth volunteering.

Our Aim: On the 1st April 2008, ‘vInvolved’ a new national youth volunteering programme began, with ‘vinvolved teams’ operating in every Local Authority area in England. By working together with a wide range of diverse partners and building on excellent experience and expertise in the youth and community sector -  we will develop both a local and national movement that ensures volunteering is a ‘must have’ for young people rather than a ‘must do’

  • We work with new and existing organisations to develop new volunteering opportunities for young people.

  • Ensure that young people from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity and are actively encouraged to volunteer.

  • Provide training and capacity building to organisations, enabling them to engage and work with young people effectively.

If you are aged between 16-25yrs old and you live, work or study in Tower Hamlets and are interested in volunteering, we have many volunteering opportunities available that can meet your needs.

Why not give a little of your time and gain PLENTY back! you will be rewarded with an certificate from v for your contribution in volunteering with us!
